You may have heard of a business opportunity called Global Domains International, which is also known as Website.ws or GDI. In this Global Domains International Review you will learn exactly what Global Domains International is, what it costs, the benefits of being a member, the pros and cons of the opportunity, the commission structure and whether Global Domains International is a scam or not.

I have been a member of Global Domains International since 2006 and this review is based on my own experience with the company. I'll share with you the negatives of GDI as well as the positives so that you can decide whether or not this is an opportunity that you want to get involved in.

What is Global Domains International and what benefits do members receive?

Global Domains International is both a business opportunity and a domain registration/hosting service and costs $10 per month. Everyone who signs up receives a free 1 week trial so it is possible to fully try out the product and the system before deciding whether or not to stick with it.

The $10 per month fee includes:

• A .ws domain name
• .ws email accounts and storage
• A very basic hosting package with 100Mb of disk space and 10Gb of traffic
• A basic website builder
• A promotion system to help you sign up customers and affiliates.

There is also the option of becoming a GDI Premium member for $40 per month instead of $10 a month. The Premium option allows you to earn higher commissions and provides you more storage, bandwidth email accounts and other hosting features. In my opinion you are better to start with the $10 a month option and decide later whether or not it is worth your while upgrading to premium for the additional features and commissions. There's not any benefit in spending this additional money each month unless you are sure.

How much can I earn with GDI?

Global Domains International provides a basic residual compensation of $1 per month per person that you sign up to GDI. Unfortunately this is only a 10% residual commission which isn't much compared to many other business opportunitites, BUT you also get $1 for every person that everyone in your downline signs up and everyone that they sign up (and so on). This makes it more powerful as it is easier to build up a good residual commission. I don't do much promotion for GDI and it is not my main business opportunity, but my residual commission is usually around the $150-200 per month mark

The way to earn big money in GDI is with their bonuses. If you sign up 5 people in one week you receive a $100 bonus. If you sign up 10 people, this becomes a $200 bonus. This continues and you get $100 for every 5 people that you signup within 1 week.

GDI pays your regular commissions by US $ check or PayPal, but will only pay your bonus commission via PayPal. So if you intend to promote GDI heavily you must have a PayPal account or reside in a country that is supported by PayPal.

Is Global Domains International a Scam?

No. They are a legitimate company who have been around for many years, pay their affiliates on time and have a responsive support system. In all my years of being a member I have never had any issues with them and have received my check on time each month.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of GDI?

Disadvantages include:

• DVD Purchase Requirement for bonuses - you have to jump through a few hoops before you can get paid bonuses. You need to sign and fax or mail in various affiliate agreements, purchase 10 DVDs (which you can use for promotion), provide a photo and testimonial and setup a .ws email address in Paypal. This is all very annoying, but you only have to do it once and this is only for bonus payments, not regular commissions. The DVD requirement is waived for premium GDI members.
• Website builder very limited - there is also a limit of 10 pages. If you want to build a decent website you would be better downloading a free website builder program such as Kompozer.
• Is an MLM program - This basically means that you can earn commissions on multiple levels (e.g. sales that your affiliates make as well as your own sales). Not necessarily a disadvantage, but some people are against MLM programs, so this is why I mention it here.

Advantages include:

• Low entry cost and monthly cost - the free 1 week trial and $10 monthly fee makes it accessible to a wide range of people.
• Free trial and videos makes this opportunity easy to sell - this allows people to try before they buy.
• Good bonus compensation plan - an additional $100 per week for every 5 people you sign up.
• Above average retention rate - the low monthly costs help to ensure that poeple stick around after they join.
• Easy setup for newbies - the website, domain name and hosting is included and is easy for newbies to setup.
